I work as a project manager in fish and fisheries research at Wageningen Marine Research (formerly IMARES).

For example, I am currently working on a large-scale study in the lower rivers where we are making a stock estimate of the walleye and bream in the area, but I am also working on cutter fisheries and looking for alternatives to fish (with small ships) in wind farms on the North Sea.

In my spare time I am of course on the waterfront with my fishing rod or you can find me under water among the fish, here in the Netherlands or somewhere on the other side of the world.

I fish for predatory fish (pike, catfish, zander, bass), fly fishing, beach fishing.

My biggest fish is a silky shark of about 2.5-3 meters in size ... Further in NL: Pike (118cm), Zander (80cm), Perch (46cm), Sea bass (75cm), Catfish (190 + cm)

For me fishing is pure relaxation, just a moment for myself in this busy and often stressful world. Being alone for a while and enjoying nature and the animals around you. And if you also catch a nice fish ... Bonus!

And of course it is great to be able to and do this together with a very nice group of fanatic girls.
